Trending ngayon sa Twitter ang “M to M” at “Kuya Kim” dahil sa tweet ni Kapuso trivia master-host Kuya Kim Atienza tungkol sa kung paano maiiwasan ang kumakalat ngayong sakit dahil sa virus na “monkeypox”.
Isang netizen kasi ang nagtanong sa kaniya kung ano ang pinagkaiba ng chickenpox sa monkeypox.
“Chickenpox is less severe and the virus is airborne. Monkeypox is sexually transmitted. M to M,” aniya. Tumutukoy ang “M to M” bilang “Male to Male”.
Pumalag naman dito ang mga netizen dahil tila “homophobic” daw ang dating nito, at tila natarget ang mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA+ community. Isa raw itong disinformation dahil kahit anong gender ay maaaring magkaroon nito, M to F man, o F to F.
Naging masakit ang tirada sa kaniya ng mga netizen lalo’t kilala pa naman siya bilang trivia master. Narito ang ilan sa mga naging komento ng mga netizen.
“Kuya Kim, this is disinformation. Hindi lang sa ‘M to M’ sex nakukuha ang monkeypox. Gumagawa ka pa ng statements that will propagate hate towards the community.”

Kaagad namang humingi ng tawad si Kuya Kim sa kaniyang mga nasabi, sa pamamagitan din ng tweets.
“My deepest apologies to those that were affected by my tweet. Some of the things I said were ambiguous and caused a lot of hurt especially to members of the LGBTQ community. You are correct, monkeypox is sexually transmitted but also by non sexual close contact. It is not an STD.”
Nilinaw ng trivia master na ang nais niyang sabihin na kadalasan, ang mga naitatalang kaso ay M to M, ngunit tama naman ang mga netizen na lahat ng kasarian ay maaaring mahawaan nito.
