Siniguro ni Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso nitong Lunes sa lahat ng Manilenyo na patuloy na magkakaloob ang lokal na pamahalaan ng trabaho para sa mga unemployed dahil sa kasalukuyang pandemya ng COVID-19.
Ayon kay Domagoso, ang Public Employment Service Office (PESO) na pinamumunuan ni Fernan Bermejo, ay nagpapatupad na ngayon ng hybrid local recruitment, o tumatanggap ng aplikante sa pamamagitan ng online at face-to-face systems.
“To ensure that we could reach all the applicants in every way possible, PESO Manila opened the “Hybrid Local Recruitment Activity” through online and face to face where even walk-ins are being catered to,” anang alkalde.
Ani Domagoso, layunin ng PESO na tiyakin ang mabilis at episyenteng paghahatid ng employment facilitation services at magbigay ng napapanahong impormasyon sa labor market at DOLE Programs.
Iniulat ni Bermejo sa alkalde na ang COVID-19 pandemic ay labis na nakaapekto sa mga programa pati na sa daily operations nito sa pangkalahatan.
“Before the pandemic happened, the PESO of the City of Manila, on a daily basis, caters to hundreds of applicants and clients,” sabi ni Bermejo.
Upang matiyak ang kalusugan at kaligtasan ng mga aplikante at employers, ang PESO ay nag- transitioned na gawin ang interviews online para sa lahat ng local recruiting activities simula noong Oktubre 1, 2020.
“This initiative aims to provide a safer environment for its clients – employers and job seekers, alike – contactless/online interviews for job seekers. PESO-City of Manila started conducting its profiling interviews of applicants through various online platforms, such as Zoom and FB Messenger. Employer interviews are also being conducted using the same platforms,” dagdag pa ni Bermejo.
Sinabi pa nito na sa loob ng dalawang taon, ay ginamit ng PESO ang nasabing platforms upang ipagpatuloy ang core value ng tanggapan.
“We are facing a hard time to place the hired-on-the-spot applicants using zoom interview because of internet connections, mobile gadgets and also the willingness of the applicants, since a huge number of them are still adjusting the usage of technology,” ayon pa kay Bermejo.
Ang PESO ay isang non-fee charging multi-dimensional employment service facility o entity na itinatag sa lahat ng Local Government Unit (LGUs) sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Ito ay in-adopt ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Maynila sa pamamagitan ng City Ordinance No. 8166 na kilala din sa tawag na “Creation of Public Employment Service Office in the City of Manila.”
