Sinabi kahapon ni Deputy Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Nabil Tan na ang ratipikasyon ng Congress sa Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) sa ilalim ni bagong House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo nitong Martes ay isang momentous celebration hindi lamang para sa mga kapatid nating Muslim kundi para sa lahat ng Pilipino.
Masaya si Tan, namumuno sa Government Implementing Panel, na sa kabila ng kanilang mga pagkakaiba, “the members of the committee have united to reconcile a Bangsamoro law that promotes the aspirations of the Bangsamoro people.”
“This is one big step in pursuing genuine and lasting peace in the Bangsamoro,” ani Tan.
Raratipikahan sana ng House of Representatives nitong Lunes ang BOL para malagdaan ito ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte bago ang kanyang ikatlong State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Gayunman, dahil sa pagbabago sa liderato ng Kamara ay hindi ito nangyari.
Gayunman, tiniyak ni Pangulong Duterte sa kanyang SONA na lalagdaan niya ang organic law sa loob ng dalawang araw.
“When the approved version is transmitted and received by my office… Give me 48 hours to sign it and ratify the law. Babasahin ko pa bago ko pipirmahan,” sinabi ni Duterte.
Nagpahayag ng pasasalamat si Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chair Ebrahim Murad sa ratipikasyon ng BOL. “We thank the new leadership of the House and we hope that this is the key in moving forward,” aniya.
Nakiisa rin sa pagdiriwang ang international ambassadors na sumusuporta sa prosesong pagkapayapaan sa bansa.
“It is wonderful to witness Philippine history as the Senate adopts the bicameral report on the BOL – the dawn of new beginning for Mindanao,” sinabi ni Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Amanda Gorely.
Nagpahayag din ng ksiyahan ang iba’t ibang sektor sa pagsasakatuparan sa pangarap ng mamamayang Bangsamoro sa legislative level.
Inilarawan ng Al Qalam Institute for Islamic Identities and Dialogues in Southeast Asia ang BOL na “an antidote to the years of conflict and strife, and hopefully will usher in a new era of healing between all Filipino peoples.”
Ang Bangsamoro Autonomous Region ay bubuuin ng Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, anim na munisipyo sa Lanao del Norte, 39 na barangay sa North Cotabato, at mga lungsod ng Cotabato at Isabela.
