HOST ang Manila sa FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2018, ayon sa Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).
Nauna nang tumayong punong abala ang Pilipinas sa dalawang stages ng 3x 3 professional season – ang FIBA 3×3 World Tour noong 2014 at 2015 at nagkaroon na rin ng kinatawan sa FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final na kinabibilangan nina Calvin Abueva at Terrence Romeo.
“We are very proud and honored to be hosting the FIBA 3×3 World Cup next year,” ayon kay SPB Executive Director Sonny Barrios.
“Our two previous experiences hosting FIBA 3×3 events have been a success and 3×3 has become a centerpiece of our development program.”
Lahat ng mga laro sa FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2018 ay idaraos sa iisang court kung saan lalaro ang 20 men’s at 20 women’s teams maging sa tatlong individual contest (men’s dunk contest , women’s skills contest at mixed shoot-out contest).
