NEW YORK (AP) – Hindi naibigan ng mga retirado at future basketball hall-of-famer ang tila pambabastos at pagpapaaresto kay dating New York Knick star Charles Oakley.
Nagkakaisang dinepensahan nina four-time MVP LeBron James, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade at dating Indiana Pacers superstar Reggie Miller ang sapilitang pagpapaalis ng security personnel kay Oakley sa Madison Square Garden at pagpapaaresto rito nitong Miyerkules (Huwebes sa Manila).
Sapilitang pinalabas ang 53-anyos na si Oakley sa arena na naging bahagi ng kanyang buhay at career bilang pambato ng Knicks kasama sina hall-of-famer Patrick Ewing at John Starks noong dekada 90. Kinasuhan din siya ng ‘misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault’ at ‘third-degree misdemeanor’.
Ayon sa opisyal na pahayag ng Knicks management, naganap ang insidente dahil sa pangugulo at pambabastos ni Oakley kay New York Knicks president James Dolan.
Hindi naman ito tanggap ng mga NBA stars.
Sa kanyang Instagram account, ipinost ni Wade ang larawan ng batang si Oakley na nakasuot ng Knicks uniform.
“Ten years Oak gave everything he had for this organization and the image everyone will be left with won’t be this picture. It will be the (image) of him being taken down to the ground last night in the same arena he gave his all as a player by the guards! This could happen to any of us!!! #StayWoke We are not above this treatment!” pahayag ng two-time NBA champion.
