HOT topic ngayon ang Spanish animation movie na Elcano And Magellan, The First Voyage Around The World, na patungkol sa Portuguese explorer na si Ferdinand Magellan, dahil sa “alleged historical inaccuracies.”

Eksena sa 'Elcano and Magellan'

Sa official website ng pelikula, mababasa sa synopsis ang: “Haul anchors! Hoist sails! One of the most complete adventures ever told. A voyage to the unknown that started with Magellan in command and was concluded by Juan Sebastián Elcano. Storms, hunger, hostile tribes… Five ships sailed off from Seville. Three years later, only one of them managed to return, bringing their adventure full circle and finally proving that planet Earth is round.”

Sa ilalim ng mga characters, inilarawan din si Magellan bilang “a mythical sailor hardened in thousands of battles and navigations.”

“He has been almost everywhere, including the Molucca Islands. He leads the expedition that will sail around the world firmly and thoughtfully. To fulfill his dream, he had to convince Carlos V, King of Castilia, that it is possible to reach the Moluccas by setting off to the West.”

Samantala, nabanggit din dito ang Pilipinong bayani na si Lapu-Lapu, pinuno ng Mactan sa Visayas, na ipinakilala sa pelikula bilang “indigenous chief of the tribe of the island of Mactan and enemy of the king of Cebu. He leads a hard battle against Magellan and several expedition members when they go to his island at the request of the neighboring king. Surprised by the arrows and the large number of indigenous attackers, the battle of Mactan marks a before and after in the expedition.”

“Spanish film producers and distributors (Filmax, Dibulitoon) literally made a film w/ Magellan as hero and Filipinos as romantic interests/understanding supporters/antagonists………and they’re about to show this film in the PH……….put this colonialist garbage in the trash,” pahayag nito sa Twitter.
