Danny Kingad kayang talunin si ‘Mighty Mouse’ ayon kay Eustaquio

Para sa marami, ang matagal nang pound for pound king na si Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson ay ang kanilang paboritong manalo sa darating na ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix.

Nakilala si Johnson sa North American flyweight scene bilang World Champion doon ng anim na taon.

Kahit nakabibilib ang panalo niya, ang dating ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio ay naniniwalang matatalo niya si Johnson at inaasahan patutunayan ito ng kasamahan niyang si Danny “The King” Kingad.

“They say DJ is the best, but that is in the West. We do not know what is waiting [for him] here in the East. Flyweight is a strong division for Asian athletes.” Sabi ni Eustaquio, na naniniwala kay Kingad na kaya nitong patumbahin Johnson kung magkakaharap sila sa tournament.

“Danny is young, hungry and promising. Anything can happen inside the cage. This is mixed martial arts,” pahayag ni Eustaquio.

Pero bago pa man sila magkaharap ay kailangan muna nila matalo ang mga nasa kaniya kaniyang bracket.

Pareho silang maguumpisa ng kanilang Grand Prix campaign sa ONE: A NEW ERA sa Marso 31 sa Tokyo, Japan. Makakalaban ni Kingad ang dating ONE Bantamweight World Title contender na si Andrew Leone at si Johnson naman ay makakatapat si Yuya Wakamatsu.

Simula nang matalo si Kingad sa kanyang unang World Title na laban kay Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes noong Nobyembre 2017, nakapanalo na siya ngayon ng apat na sunod sunod na laban.

“I’ve seen Danny grow and develop as an athlete as we both train inside the Team Lakay gym almost every day. I’m confident with his skills and talent that he will come out victorious in this tournament,” sabi ni Eustaquio.

“Johnson cannot guarantee a sure win over Danny because my teammate can give him the biggest upset of his lifetime.
