Restituto Padilla, Jr.

“Historically, the battle of Marawi is now the longest since World War—since the end of World War II in a single area… in the Philippines,” sinabi ni Padilla sa Palace press briefing kahapon.

“To date, there are over 800 of their members who have been killed in the ongoing fire fight and this has been the biggest and most significant numbers that we have done to impact on this organization and this has not happened previously,” dagdag niya.

Disregarding civilians held as hostages, the crisis could have ended the earliest by bombing the whole area and flatten it at once. But we are humans and the military leadership upholds the right to life of innocent civilians and not considering them as collateral damage.
