Sasabak ang eight-man Philippine junior team, sa pangunguna ni Ivan Dominic Malig, sa 14th World Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship sa Hulyo 22 hanggang Agosto 3, sa Sun Valley Lanes sa Lincoln, Nebraska.

Iginiit ni dating national player Biboy Rivera at tumatayong junior coach kasama ni Jojo Canare, na mabigat ang laban ng Pinoy sa presensiya ng powerhouse Korea, Japan, Sweden, Malaysia, Australia, at host USA.

“We are considered there as one of the underdogs but I still believe we can compete against strong oppositions in that tournament,” sambit ni Rivera, 2010 Asian Games gold medalist sa Guangzhou, China.

“Our modest goal is to win a medal. Any medal will be a good performance,” aniya.

Bukod kay Malig, kabilang din sa koponan sina Bea Hernandez, rookie player Gospel Gahol, GJ Buyco at Louis Cantorna sa boys’ side, habang ang girls team ay binubuo nina RJoy Daval Santos, Rical Macatula at Xyrra Cabusas.

Pinamumunuan ang delegasyon nina Philippine Bowling Federation (PBF) secretary-general at team manager Alex Lim at suportado ang kampanya ng Pinoy ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), PBF, Cebuanna Lhuiller, Jag Jeans, Mr. Mar Lualhati, Eagle Ridge Country Club, Mr. Gene Tonolete, at Boysen Paints. 

Target ng koponan na tuldukan ang mahabang panahon ng pagkauhaw sa kampeonato. Huling nagwagi sa torneo ang Pinoy noong 1992 edition sa Caracas, Venezuela nang manalo si Angelo Constantino. Noong 1998, naka-bronze medal lamang si RJ Bautista.
